“Now a classic, once the ultimate sports bike it still cuts it as a fast tourer. I have travelled many kilometres across Europe, once riding from Furth in Southern Germany to Amsterdam in a day because it was so easy there seemed no point in stopping. At 100mph (or 160 kph to be strict) it was silent and free from buffeting. I have had the bike for nearly 20 years and see no reason to change, even at the age of 74. I may not travel at those speeds nowadays, certainly not in the UK but the low-speed torque and the ability to go most places in top gear make it very relaxing and still a useful motorway cruiser as well as having brilliant handling and being able to corner far faster than I now can!”
