“2005 Suzuki DL650 V-Strom - incredible machine, reliable, easy to ride long distance, and has carried me and my tent on many adventures. They got this one almost perfect right from the start. Its only faults are - I wish it had a bigger fuel tank (can't believe they made later models actually smaller!!!) and I've spent a lot of money upgrading the front forks with emulator valves and proper springs, and fitting GXSR 4-pot brake calipers (both worth every penny!) An easy bike to adapt to be a real traveler, plus a bomb-proof motor. I've done 1000+mile weekends on this and just want to keep rolling - I love it! ps - I'm a woman in my late 60's, so this is one for the girls just as much as for the boys! Built for adventure....”
“The bike is a 2005 V-Strom, purchased in July with 5700 miles on the clock. Much smoother and more flexible that my previous bike, a MZ Sporpion, and prefer it to the BMW K100RS before that, particularly as it's considerably lighter. Comfortable to ride, with good protection although I needed a memory foam pad and sheepskin on the seat for longer rides - my wife likes the seating position. Brakes are good since I replaced the original pads to give more bite. Finish is not the best but performance is good and I really enjoy riding it, especially since fitting heated grips for this weather. I've also lowered the rear suspension by 50mm as it felt too high - much better since then. No problems in the 1200 miles I've done over the last 4 months.”
“Only just rideable on gravel and you really need a good dual sport tyres tyres with bight, but could not fault my vstrom 650 on long days on tarmat sealed roads.enough power..good on fuel ..comfortable”
