it can be very quick it is derived from the R1, but it depends on me (140 on the autobhan there was more but I was not going to chance it , it was exciting to get it up there for a while. economy depends on my right hand & how quickly I want to get there, I expect 40mpg at normal cruising (80>90) it corners sweet, I understand the later models (2005 on R not its equal) I use a gel seat on the long hauls and stop for coffee & wee every 100 miles on the continent, we have found that when heading for Italy through switzerland it help to break it up and U get to smell the roses, it is a (quick) sports tourer not a cafe racer & it does take 2 panniers, back bag & tank bag without noticing it. I have learnt that a sat nav can be a real friend. R4 .

It goes, stops and corners great but I just can't get used to riding it. My last bikes were a Ducati GT1000, Triumph Rocket 3, Sprint 955i Rs, Thunderbird 900 and a Moto Guzzi 750. They were much more relaxed and lower reving. When I first rode the Fazer, it felt like I had a first gear and 5 second gears. I've changed the front sprocket to gear it up a bit but still couldn't tell which gear I was in- I just kept trying to get 7th! In the end, I fitted a gear indicator which helps alot. When it's time to say goodbye, I'll get another triple or twin. Anyway, if you like Fours, then the Fazer is good value and has a good mix of speed, power and handling.

Looking for a budget tourer or a half faired sit up n beg do it all? You wont get better than this.all day comfort teamed up with a detuned r1 engine that propels you into the distance in a blink.handles well stops brilliantly and can cope with all situations with ease..not even the bandit can come close to do it all perfection. Low mile fazers can be bought for around £3500 watch for general wear and tear but nothing jumps out as a fault..this is the ultimate budget do it all bike..
