“These are tiny rings, only about 1cm. This makes them great for canister filters because you can stuff a lot into the tray with little wasted space. Doesn't appear to be impacting the flow on mine either. The surface of the rings is noticeably rough which would increase the surface for bacteria to grow.
They are so small that these would be a really good choice for internal filters and top filters. I'm impressed with these enough that I'm replacing all my standard rings once these are cycled.
Also, I forgot to add it comes with 5 plastic-ish stretchy media bags too.”
