Since putting Fluval Stratum in my planted tank my plants are doing much better than they were in gravel, and previously in sand. The dark colour goes perfectly with my brighter plants. After rinsing, it only took 3-4 days for the finer dust to completely settle and my tank to become clear again, though I did change from canister filter to sponge filter to reduce the water movement while it settled. I have also found both loaches and bristlenose like digging around in it and have become a little more active since changing.

This is a great complete substrate. The dark colour creates a great background for plants and its ready to go, no mixing or layering needed. As you'll find on most forums you need to give it a quick rinse, but the finer dust settles down after a week or two. Its worth the wait and is nothing to worry about.
