“Filter is too noisy to sleep near, constant hum emitting from within. Changed impeller, changed pipes, cleaned and changed media type, still no luck.
Just as the other user has pointed out, I think there's no "fix" for this one, it's just poor design. Real shame, I've used a lot of fluval products and filters in the past without any issue.”
“Probably a great filter when installed in a busy environment. Unfortunately the impeller generates a constant rattle that can be easily heard 4+ meters away when there is no other noise to drown it out (bedroom).
Sadly it has been returned twice and keeps coming back unchanged. Since it was installed in a bedroom it's actually useless for me and cannot be used without a timer switch to turn it off at night.”
