“Is VAR Salmon 'wild' when the salmon is described as farmed on product label? Tried to contact supplier but the email bounced back.”

Hi June, Thank you for your message. Yes, the VAR salmon is farmed. As described in our product description, the premium VAR salmon is a farmed fish from a pioneering whole wild salmon producer off the Faroe Islands. The farming process is centred around the welfare of the fish, from the salmon egg to the final harvest and live in a natural environment with conditions that replicate their wild cousins. “A huge fillet, we've cut it into 3 and so far only eaten too pieces. Large flakes of beautiful wild salmon restored our bored eating habits. Wonderful with a green salad, crisp rosti and pink grapefruit marmalade marinade.”

“Really delighted with this ENORMOUS side of salmon, served 3 ways: baked in lemon and herbs for a really delicious and easy show stopping supper for 4; a large chunk cured for gravadlax; and a generous couple of portions left over to pop in the freezer for fish pie. Terrific value for money - this will definitely become a regular order.”

“Flavour and quality of salmon is slightly above average. I ordered from Wright Bros for something special and I feel a little let down.”
