“These oysters cannot be called fresh as the date showed on the box that they were packed 8 days before I received them. I threw the whole lot away after trying one.”

Hi John, Thanks for taking the time to write a review of your Oysters. Our Jersey Oysters are harvested and then purified with UV filters for 48 hours before being shipped from the Channel Islands to London and then on to our depot in Devon. We then pack them up and send them to your door for consumption within twelve days of the 'packed on' date as printed on the label. It is quite normal and will not adversely affect the quality of the product having been packed this length of time before you receive them and they will have been stored in optimal conditions to keep them dormant through the supply chain. If you ever have any questions about any of our products we would urge you to get in touch with us before discarding the product. There are many misconceptions about seafood and shellfish, sometimes a quick chat with our customer service team can reassure you that the products you receive are as they should be (or not as they should be!). “Delicious, I was slightly concerned as it was really hot day and our delivery was late. The ice bags had melted but the oysters were still perfect.”

“I received them on the stated delivery date and were packed in fully recyclable packing which impressed us. As for the oysters they were very fresh no:3’s and very tasty, I would be very happy to recommend this service to anyone looking for fresh reliable and quality oysters by post.”
