“Two were open when they arrived and others the shells disintegrated resulting in grainy oysters. Otherwise they were very tasty.”

“I have ordered Oysters from a few on line suppliers and im sorry to say these were the worst. Half of them we couldnt eat as they were already open and dry. the other half were tiny. Very very disappointing.”

We always strive to maintain the highest possible standards and although supplying live shellfish is inherently complex, we do consider ourselves to be somewhat experts in the field. It is always disappointing to hear when our usual high standards fall below what you should expect. “3 out of 24 open on arrival and only one of those 3 closed firmly enough to eat. One of the other two smelt so badly it was clearly inedible. Apart from a few of the others, the remaining oysters had very little meat, just a thin layer on the bottom of the shell. Exhausted after spawning perhaps? So on the whole disappointing, possibly because they had been taken out of the water longer ago than normal because of wanting them to be available for Valentine's Day? That said, it was a brave attempt to provide oysters for Valentine's Day - no other suppliers even attempted deliveries on 14 February.”
