“I compared the GFI System Specular Reverb side by side with my tried, true and much loved TC Electronic T2 ambient reverb. The Specular Reverb knocked the T2 off my pedalboard so fast you could almost see skid marks! The T2 does have more reverb types, but I only used a few of them regularily, and none of them even came close to the Specular Reverb, which has a much more detailed and spacious sound. I also wanted the ability to store presets, which the Specular can, but the T2 cannot. The small footprint also was a big factor for me, as I could only use the space that the TC pedal occupied on my board. Having the jacks all on one side actually makes the Specular Reverb take up slightly less space. Is it worth the money, especially when it's competing with a pedal that is 1/2 it's cost? If you're playing an ambient style where the reverb is a key part of the sound and vibe of your music and you need that kind of beautiful spaciousness, then I'd say, yes, absolutely.”
