This pedal isn't for me - but that's the great thing about being able to rent it, right? It may be what you are looking for. It most definitely makes fuzz, which with some work you can dial in to a wide range of fuzziness and tones. I thought the tone was much better with the germanium boost on - to the point that I didn't see the need to have that as an independent switch. There are for knobs. Two are big knobs, two are small knobs. One big knob on one side and one small knob on the other side are both named "Ring". The other two are named "Girth" and "Bark". Twisting any one of them very much has an effect on how the others react - both for tone and for overall output level. So, if you've got your volume where you want it, but decide you want more girth or whatever, you will need to do some additional twisting to get your output back where you like it. I watched the video that translated whatever the heck girth and ring and bark mean, but I don't remember any more. I have learned through renting this pedal that I like my knob labels to actually describe the function. Like, if it is a tone knob, I think I would like it to say "Tone". When turning on the boost, especially for the first time after it powers up, there is a pop. I'm guessing this is just a quirk with the particular unit I got?
