“In my initial setup of the unit, the UVC-AI-LPR appeared to have been well thought out and designed—even including a silicone-based moisture absorber for added protection.
However, it is not very discreet and does stand out, as many who have encountered it have noted. Many have remarked that its appearance is rather ominous.
The Ethernet cable should be longer to extend through thicker walls. In the area where the camera is mounted, the exterior is constructed with face bricks and a small gap, followed by interior besser blocks filled with concrete. Consequently, the Ethernet port ends up flush with the wall, which restricts the connection options.
Other than those minor issues, the software interface is powerful and easy to use. One particular feature I truly appreciate is the enhancement of number plates, especially at night. The screen during the day is normal, but at night, it is darker, allowing for any numberplate to stand out.
I find the unit to be robust so far and does exactly what it should, which is to record license plate numbers and also other AI features such as facial recognition, animal detection and Audio. no complaints so far.”
