This is the first SUP I’ve ever owned and only the second one I’ve ever been on but I think it’s fantastic. I’m a bit on the short side (5’3”) so this one is more than big enough to help keep me stable even though it’s a bit narrower than most beginner boards. It cuts through the water with ease and set up and tear down is a breeze.

The only reason I would give a 5 star is because the fin keeps sliding out when padding

One thing to be aware of is that the fin does does take some force to click in; however, I still prefer it to fiddling with screws. Once the fin is clicked in, it's very secure and stays put until it is removed.

I purchased this board several weeks ago and have paddled it about half a dozen times. I find it a joy to paddle; it glides beautifully through the water. I also like the relative ease of setup - no screws needed to install the fin and no extra pieces like battens or strings to deal with. This really simplifies the setup process and enables me to get out on the water faster. As for Thurso customer service, they have been extremely responsive and helpful, both before and after my purchase.

Very pleased with this purchase. The board is a lot of fun, faster than our other board. The build quality is great, no issues. About the only small, (very small) issue is the repair kit that came with the board, strangely didn't have any cement. Looking forward to using the board next spring.

This a fantastic iSUP, great purchase. Well made, easy to paddle, and a responsive Thurso team with any of my questions. I've taken this in the water a bunch of times so far, very enjoyable.

I am new to SUP, but I know I will be using it for trips once I increase in experience. I love how small and light weight it is to carry. The only hard part was figuring out how to put in the fin the first time. I really like how stable it is on the water.

Thanks so much, Christina! Stoked to hear you're enjoying it out there. There are some helpful video resources over at our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/thursosurf to help get you up and running with setup and show you how the fin system works. I got this to be a faster SUP, having already owned Thurso All Around kayaks. The pump arrived broken. The fin has a little screw mechanism to attach that has three separate parts which I find hard to deal with compared to the All Around fins, which just snap in easily. I could easily see losing parts on the new fin. The strap that goes around the board is a thin material, and it's barely long enough. I find the board doesn't roll up as easily as the All Around. It has a toxic odor that I hope will dissipate over time. Overall I found it a less friendly user experience than my other Thurso boards. Once I'm on the water it is, as expected, a faster board, and nice paddle.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the Expedition as compared to the Waterwalker but thanks for the feedback! You're right the, bag is a bit more snug. You can use the pump's deflate mode to make sure all the air is out of it after paddling. As for the US fin system, it's not as quick and easy as our Quick Lock fins, but it's the most popular in the SUP industry so it opens up a lot of options. We included it on our specialty boards because many advanced paddlers like to be able to choose from a range of third party fins based on paddle style and conditions. Last the PVC odor should dissipate after airing it out under the sun on your first paddle out. We're always tweaking and testing our boards so we'll do our best to address these issues and keep paddlers informed going forward. See you on the water, Matt Social @ Thurso Surf
