“This saké is a crowd favorite but it was harder for me to discern. Perhaps the elegant blue bottle mis-set my expectations or I’m still a tasting novice. The aroma was very light in an ochōkō. On tasting, it produced a fruity heat, revealing a hardy side. The finish was fruit-forward and yummy, especially when mixed with air. I tasted banana and apple. Things got much more interesting when I tasted it from a wine glass. The aromas blossomed. It still had the heat but the flavors were rounded and delicate. Got me researching Riedel saké glasses to invest in!”
“Very smooth taste, especially when chilled. Enjoyed it with a nice pork chop and sesame rice. Sniff was a little harsh, almost like watered paint thinner, but the taste more then made up for it.”
