“Wonderfully thick and luxurious -- I'm horrible at describing tastes, but I do know that the taste is sake-like, yet thicker than the dozens of other sake's I drink and like, and complex enough to sip and savor all the nuances, aromas, and flavors. Love it so much, I've purchased multiple bottles.”
Vinh - thank you so much for your review, and you're right on the money, actually with the "thicker" description. "Judan Jikomi" is describing the ten layers of additions they do build up the fermentation mash, resulting in a thicker mouthfeel - we love that you love this!
“As port is to red wines, this sake is to other daiginjo. Very light, smooth, yet voluptuous and viscous mouthfeel. If the SMV didn't give it away already, this sake is very sweet, although not in a juicy sort of way that flavored sakes might have. The sweetness feels natural. As they suggest, this should be served cold or potentially over ice. How they are able to achieve this from just rice, koji, water, and yeast blows my mind. An absolute masterpiece.”
Hi Alexander Price,
Thank you so much for your review!
Ozeki “Judan Jikomi” is really great rich and sweet sake. It must be good to serve cold temperatures. If you like Ozeki, I recommend that I Dassai which is one of the most popular sake on our website!
“Once in a while, you come across a premium sake that is worth every penny of its premium price. This is one of them. Rich and decadent, this is one to be savored slowly.”
Thank you for your compliment, Tom! We are overjoyed that you had such a great experience with Ozeki "Judan Jikomi". This bottle absolutely worth any penny like you mentioned and very happy to hear you had a pleasant time.
