Harushika “Sakura” Reviews

This was an enjoyable sake to pair with food. The tase was pretty flowery and perfume with a nice and subtle umami chilled. There was also a noticeable alcohol note whose sweetness complemented the other notes, rather than hindering it. The notes were strong enough to hold its own against the pork I paired it with.

I really enjoyed this sake warm without food- the umami was so good, each sip revealing a lightly different flavor. When we had steak with a chimichurri sauce, we kept it chilled and the crispness was the perfect complement to the unctuous steak. I think you really can’t go wrong with this pick!

This is a newer product from Harushika that we added when we featured it in our Sake Box. We're so happy you enjoyed it, and we think your review is right on the money. :D

This was a solid sake. Chilled, it had a clean, fresh taste. While I have an untrained palate, I thought it had a mix of a tart apple and sweet pear. As it warmed closer to room temperature, it had a more deep and savory taste. I found both profiles enjoyable, though I preferred this one a little warmer.
