This is a nice variant of Wakatake's Demon Slayer. It has a bit more alcohol flavor, which is nice when you want a bit more bite.

Classic junmai genshu that never disappoints.

I tried this sake at a few different temperatures, but preferred it when warmed slightly. I found that this genshu was able to stand up to heavier foods as well; One of my favorite pairings was with steak. I found notes of banana, melon, anise, and a creaminess too!

I thought this was a highly enjoyable sake. I was a little concerned about licorice in the tasting notes. However, this was muted, and rounded out the flavors nicely. Would get again.

This is a solid brew. It is drier tasting than my regular “go to” Wakatake saké, their junmai daiginjo. However, often dry is the way to go. This junmai is terrific with food. It doesn’t overshadow other flavors. I enjoy comparing this to the “green bottle” Onikoroshi 鬼殺し (demon slayer) saké. Both are very nice premium, pure rice brews. Drink up, my friends.

This one was a bit different than the other offerings from the same brewery. It was fruitier and not as dry as the others but still very enjoyable when paired with tempura.
