“We love this junmai in our household; when celebrating something a bit special, we break out "The Old Man" and toast heartily. Food-friendly, redolant of rice, bananas, and pears. It's dry and opens up with a little lemon peel, lychee, and finishes very cleanly with just a touch of astringency. Great with salty, savory, greasy foods.”
“This sake is exactly what I want when we are grilling steaks . It’s dry enough to complement the juicy, fatty, meat but it has enough umami to highlight the salinity seasoning the meat. Hidden sweet notes are a fantastic surprise. All in all a total package! The label is eye catching too!”
“This sake is a must try for those who like dry sake. I had this sake warmed with salmon, brussels sprouts, cheese, cured meats, and lamb; and it was delicious with all! While this is a dry sake, there are slightly sweet notes that do creep in. There is a fantastic mix of rice, banana bread, grain, and a creaminess to this brew. Fantastic!”
