Ichinokura “Mukansa” Amakuchi Reviews

4.1 Rating 7 Reviews
I really liked this one. It was light, sweet, and easy to drink. Maybe not the most complex, but it was consistently delicious with each glass I had through the week. I tried it chilled and could see this being a refreshing drink for the summer. If you dislike sweeter sake or need it to have a dry bite, this may not be the bottle for you, but I found its mellow approach appealing - it is simply a sake to drink and enjoy.

Better aged. I like this sake after it has sat on my counter for a few days. Fresh out of the bottle I find the taste a bit harsh. But after a few days out it mellows and is great with salmon.

Ignore the instructions, and enjoy as an everyday (or every other day) sake. I got this sake for the purpose of having a warm/hot sake. I tried it, and hated it.... at first. It had a roughness or harsh finish. I heated it in hot water and drank it hot and hated it. Then I let it sit on my counter. I noticed the English instructions said refrigerate, but ignored it. After a few days/week sitting on the counter it mellowed out. Then, I enjoyed it at the end of some days with some cured salmon I made.

I heated this up and no. There is a harshness in each sip that I do not like. I have ordered several other sakes from Tippsy and haven't tasted a sake like this one. When it first hit my tongue it was fine, but then going down, harsh. I'm never ordering this again. Sad thing is I got two of these bottles because I was looking for a sake that could be warmed up. **sad trombone**.

Received this in a sampler box and will likely order again. Drinks very nice at room temperature. Very clean taste.
