“This is the first sake I've experienced that has pronounced floral notes. I loved it! The initial hit is a pleasing crisp bite, then there is a rich & velvety middle, followed by a floral finish. I usually drink sake without accompaniment, and this is certainly one that works beautifully on its own. I almost feel like serving this sake alongside food would be competition; it is just that good. It is a wonderful Ginjo sake that I will be buying again for a perfect summer beverage.”
“Not for everyone as I prefer richer sake. The Dewazakura “Oka” Cherry Bouquet is very light and aromatic, but not sweet. I paired it with a seafood dinner and the sake was overpowered by the salty flavors. In my opinion this sake needs to be enjoyed with more subtle flavors or alone.”
“Deeply floral, melon on the nose, overall good but comes off as maybe a little cloying (not actually sweet, but the feeling of it) to me and my guests. When served in hinoki cups it mellows out and in my opinion improves.”
“I enjoyed Dewazakura Oka chilled as an aperitif. The nose reminds me of something similar to Dassai 45, although I could be misremembering. But the palette expands and adds complexity with added rice, minerality, and floral notes. This was a fantastic sake to begin my meal with.”
