“This sake was wonderful and refreshing when paired with a platter of various fruits and vegetables. It is fruity on the nose and palate, but does not linger and is very clean to drink. I think this is a really beautiful sake when you want a no-brainer junmai daiginjo.”
“I am excited to see this now being offered by Tippsy. While it is delicious and approachable, it is an instant five-star rating for me as this is the sake that started me on this fantastic journey and opened my eyes to this wondrous beverage. While I did not buy this from Tippsy, it ultimately led me here, so I guess you still get the win. Funny, when I got this bottle, all I knew about sake was junmai daiginjo was the “best” and that is what I should drink. Now I know so much more, but more importantly that “best” really depends on how you are intending on enjoying it and a “lowly” junmai can actually be better for the occasion. I am glad I did not limit myself to a specific category as there are so many amazing breweries out there passionately crafting such unique varieties, and I have enjoyed exploring each new bottle I have received from Tippsy. Well, that is probably more than anyone wanted to read in a review, but this sake holds a sentimental spot in my heart.
To reviewing this product specifically, in the description, it says this was created to be a quintessential sake and I agree it has that classic light and dry flavor with a mild sweetness and a soft mouthfeel. I tried it chilled and on its own, but could see this easily pairing well with the right style of food. It tastes exactly as you would expect a sake to taste like. Give this one a try or better yet, share this with a friend or friends that may not know much about sake. Who knows, maybe they will also come to appreciate what makes this beverage so special and want to continue to spread the love for it.
