The flavor of this was so refreshing, surprisingly a little minty to me and the cedar flavor really came through when served in a masu. Perfect for a hot day.

Surprisingly good for the price. Has a bit more flavors than any other sake I've tried.

My first introduction to sake in the 90s was the only option at my local restaurant - cheap and pipping hot. I enjoyed it until I was introduced to the vast worlds of sake. And then I swore off hot sake for many years. Knowing there are some great sakes out there that excel when warm or hot, I was intrigued when I sake this won awards in both the hot and warm categories. I was a little disappointed trying this both hot and warm. While it was good at warm, I felt like it was missing some flavor component. Then I tried it chilled, slightly chilled, and room temperature. For me, its was great somewhere between slightly chilled and room temperature. It has a bold and complex flavor that worked amazingly well with some grilled lamb.

This one was really interesting honestly, but probably not one I'd personally gravitate towards again? It had pear and cedar notes, and was VERY full bodied and almost...effervescent? Like it's not a sparkling sake but I had to double check because there's something about it that makes it seem that way. It almost reminds me of wine because of the heaviness? I liked trying it as I learned more about what I like and don't like, but this is probably a sake someone else would enjoy a bit more. :)

On my first sip, chilled, I though this particular sake was rather light & dry . After it opened up a little and with every following sip, it got more complex. Still, not quite my style, but I did enjoy it.
