Taisetsu “Junmai Ginjo” Reviews

I enjoyed this balanced, serviceable sake. A good choice if you have multiple people over whom all have a wide range of preferences in their sake. It should please everyone, but will not likely blow anyone away. Of the three sakes in the box, it was my least favorite, with the Born “Special” my favorite by far!

This particular Sake had to have been the worst I've ever had. I can only hope it was just a bad bottle as it was so nasty - it had a rancid smell/taste to it, I ended up spitting what I had out that was cold, and then even after cooking, though the smell got worse so dumped the rest. What a waste. The other Sake's this month were good, so I wouldn't judge the rest by this, though this one I would actively avoid.

This was a very neutral sake to me. I didn't hate it, I didn't love it, it's something that I wouldn't mind sipping. It was definitely on the sweeter side,. I preferred the drier sakes in the box. But I thought this was a really great one to include for learning what type of sake you like!

First of all, this sake has a very nice fragrant smell. For drinking, it is fine when drinking it cold, but for me nothing special. However, when warmed up it becomes much more interesting with a nice hint of sweetness. I liked it around 90-100F myself.
