Yauemon “Junmai Daiginjo” Reviews

4.6 Rating 5 Reviews
The aroma expands wonderfully across the palate and throat! Nose: Impressive floral and tropical notes with distinct pineapple aromas Palate: Clean sweetness with fresh banana, caramel, melon, and white peach flavors.

After enjoying their nigori, I was excited to try this one. I drank it chilled and on its own and found it pleasant and sweet. If you are worried about the anise tasting note, I did not notice it. I did not get strong melon either, but that gentle sweetness that makes sake so enjoyable to me. While I did not find any issue with this one, it did not overly impress me either. My guess is this is one to enjoy with food and by complimenting it with the flavors of the food, it will only enhance this bottle. Though, at this price point for a junmai diaginjo, it is worth a try.

As I continue to learn (and drink more sake) this has become one of my go to's.

Mark-san, we are so happy to hear. Made by just four brewery workers who also become farmers every summer to raise sustainably raised, quality rice, we are so happy you chose this quality sake as your go to. :D
