“Have you ever ordered a hamburger at a fancy restaurant only to be disappointed that it wasn't as good as White Castle even though you spent way more? And everything that you appreciate in a hamburger is missing only to be replaced with a whole bunch of pretense? As someone who thinks Choya is the perfect dessert after dinner at an izakaya, I was a little worried that would be case with Sawanotsuru. Thankfully, it's most certainly not the case. Sawanotsuru is everything I enjoy about less expensive umeshu, but a bit more complex and nuanced. I will definitely buy again.”
“When they said nectar-like sweetness in the description, they weren't kidding! If you don't want sweet-as-candy sake, pass this one over. That said, the flavor is rich and has depth of palate. I love sweet drinks, and I found this sake a fine accompaniment to a heavy meal. Also, my alcohol-hating husband shared a glass with me. We'll definitely be ordering this again!”
