“I am writing about the Momokawa “Organic” Junmai Ginjo which purchased from Tippsy Sake. I originally happened to find it when visiting Portland OR. Back in Washington State I could not find it in our local stores and so I did an online search. That is how I found Tippsy Sake, and I'm glad that I did!
I have now ordered 3 bottles directly from Tippsy.
This is a truly wonderful sake...so creamy and smooth, richness with wonderful balance.
Buying products which are produced by organic growing methods is a priority for me. This sake meets that standard while not sacrificing quality.
I will also say that chilled or room temperature sake has never appealed to me and I've drank sake for decades. I've tried, believe me. Against the recommendation to drink this product at a cold temperature, I slowly heated it and it was delicious. That's simply my preference.”
Hi Lee - thank you for sharing your thoughts. It means a lot for us to hear your take, and to hear that choosing sake using organically grown rice is important to you. Most all rice grown for premium sake is grown as sustainably and without chemicals, but most craft size breweries cannot afford to certify them. That said, there are a few craft size sake makers in Japan who do go through the trouble, to raise awareness and to contribute to future generations. Tentaka brand is one of those examples.

“Another reviewer said the bottle came "creamy not what the pic indicates." That buyer may have received Momokawa's nigori (which I have also had before and love). I did receive the correct junmai ginjo here and liked it very much. Definitely could smell and taste the pineapple notes. Wonderful chilled. Will buy again.”
