Toko “Ultraluxe” Reviews

4.2 Rating 5 Reviews
I received two bottles Ultraluxe in a larger order. All the other items were fine. Both Ultraluxe boxes were broken. When I informed Tippsy Sake if the product wooden boxes breaking, they said they don’t consider that a problem. They said they are not responsible. I sent very clear pictures and took video. The product comes in a weak wood box. Feels like balsawood and very cheap considering price of this sake. In no way is my experience satisfactory and dealing with their customer service wasted time and effort over many days.

This sake is indescribable, but I will try! I bought this to have when I closed on my first house - definitely a celebratory sake to be shared. Smooth does not describe this - it is beyond smooth. Drinks like water, incredibly floral, and unlike anything I've ever had. This brewery is in it's 24th generation...! The process of making this is the stuff of legends - the rice farmers are the same people who work at the brewery during the off-season and really "know the rice". The snow of the nearby mountain melts and the water is used to grow the rice as well as used in the production of the sake. The rice is polished down to just 35% (!) and after fermentation, goes through a "fukurotsuri" process - where the mash is hung up and no pressure is put on it - only what drips out is what is bottled. Insane!

Very smooth and quite delicate. You are initially hit with layers of smell and the most prominent for me were earth (like after the rain) and a very mild rose-like sweetness. The first sip (especially when take with a cordial glass) is sweet but not overtly so, and smooth; there was no harshness in the aftertaste and it would leave you with the satisfaction that you'd feel after drinking water on a particularly hot summer day. I do believe this bottle is quite apt for spring with the recommended cool serving conditions. It's like a breath of fresh air and is wound quite beautifully.
