3 Point Offset Flail Ditch Bank Mower 57" Reviews

4.2 Rating 20 Reviews
Read Titan Attachments Reviews

Trimming and maintaining banks, roadsides, ditches, and shorelines can be challenging. Thankfully, our bank mowers are built to efficiently handle overgrown grass on ditches and embankments.
Equipped with forged hammer flail blades, these mowers can cut and mulch material up to 3" in diameter in one pass. The finely shredded cuttings act as a fast-decomposing, micronutrient-rich fertilizer, nourishing your land. The trimmings drop directly to the ground, reducing debris. Plus, an adjustable rear roller provides precise cutting height control, ensuring a clean, even cut on uneven terrain.
The 48", 57", and 65" models are compatible with Category 1 tractors, offering a 65-degree up-and-down pivot and 90-degree vertical rotation for easy maneuvering. The 78" model, built for Category 2 tractors, pivots 90 degrees up and 49 degrees down, delivering a precise, clean cut every time.

Have used the mower once so far for about 3 hours. To mow alongside my driveway which is about 1/3rd of a mile and no part is flat. I've got ditches on one side and steep hillsides on both sides. So the offset and the rotation are what we needed. Tall grass, Scotch Broom and some maple and redwood saplings (up to about 1/2" diameter) and other assorted weeds. Ripped through with a lot of noise and no problems. This thing is a brute - it beats the job into submission! I'm using in on a Kubota L3301. I've got a loader. Definitely want some weight on the front - the mower is heavy and the swing arms put it way out there. As noted by others, the hydraulic control is "touchy". I am thinking of getting some restrictors to put inline to slow things down. Swinging around that much mower with that much leverage really rocks my tractor. It took less than a minute or two to figure out the order of moving things - side shift first, then raise 3-pt, then rotate. The assembly instructions were not great. I downloaded the doc from the website - definitely do that. The instructions that came in the box were different and not coherent. The document online was much better. Still a few "huh?" moments but we got it done. Suggest a strong helper. I did it by myself - with some help from an ancient Greek named Archimedes (the big prybar) and my small jack. Took a lot longer that way I think but doable. Only had one small fitment issue - one swing arm to mower frame bracket was too tight and had to grind away the paint on the swing arm side. We'll see how it holds up. I expect to do this job a few times a year, so not a huge amount of use expected.

Really like the offset flail ditch bank mower. It cuts my time down by half. The only thing is we had to go online to find how to assemble it.

Shipping was fast, fedex box truck and I had forks to unload from truck. Packaging was great, nice crate, everything well wrapped. Nothing was bend or banged up. I realized that there was no PTO shaft in the crate. [updated: I found a PTO shaft local and Titan refunded me that amount, that was awesome] Mower is very nice, built like a tank, nice grease fitting on all movable parts, things went together well. Hoses are plenty long. Got it connected to my tractor (JD 3033R) and hydraulics connected just fine. I put restrictors in the lines to slow this thing down, it was very fast before I did that. That made it very controllable and slow moving. It doesn't seem the 48in version has cut height adjustment, there are not extra holes to adjust the back roller wheel in the 48in version anyway. The angle of the mower (top link) will dictate cut height, which is fine for its size, and to some degree, because there is motion allowed in the mowers top link, just lifting the 3-point changes the cut height. Lower it all the way and I can scrape the ground, raise it until I get the cut height I want, steel wheel stays on the ground the whole time. Works decent, although I would like the height adjustment. The mower seems great, heavy duty IMO, and built well. I’m happy with it. Note: Tighten everything! All hydraulic lines, and every bolt you can find just to be safe. Check belt tension. Greased all the fittings, and filled the gear box with oil as you should with any new equipment. Never “trust” that there is oil anywhere. It’s yours now, take your time and just doit. Read the entire manual. I’ve used the mower now for 10-15 hours and have had no problem. I keep it clean and out of the rain and expect it to last years, check for oil before every use. I give the mower a 5 stars.

The quality of this mower is great, It is made from 1/4 inch plate steal and the arms have grease fittings on the joints. Very well built. Just wish the roller and the skids were adjustable for cutting height as it cuts too low for my requirements.
