Do NOT buy if you are also buying the SquatMax. The SquatMax comes with one. Had I been told this upon buying the SquatMax I wouldn’t have wasted $35

The transformer pin is a very important attachment for the Titan Fitness SquatMax MD because it will help you prevent muscular accommodation, which is when you stop obtaining muscular endurance, size, and strength gains if you do the same exercise(s) the same way too long. As the late Louie Simmons of Westside Barbell Club, whose members broke many world powerlifting records said, "Constantly change. As long as you keep changing something small, you can keep making progress. Once you start doing the same thing over and over, accommodation sets in. You're dead in the water. You don't make any progress." The transformer pin creates two additional types of muscular tension with Titan Fitness SquatMax MD exercises by changing the angle. This will prevent muscular accommodation if you rotate angles for the exercises you do on the Titan Fitness SquatMax MD every two weeks or so. If you don't have a transformer pin, there is only one angle for each Titan Fitness SquatMax MD exercise. With the transformer pin, you have three angles to choose from: (1) doing Titan Fitness SquatMax MD exercises without the transformer pin; (2) doing exercise by using the transformer pin by hooking your belt to the top hole; or (3) doing exercises by using the transformer pin by hooking your belt to the bottom hole.

Doesn't give much more depth but does give a different stimulus so it depends on what you are looking for. If you have the squatmax md you may as well add it to your arsenal.
