Compliments: — The build feels sturdy; the metal doesn't seem unreasonably cheap or flimsy. I have never felt like I was going to bend something. — The sliding rails are smooth and not loose. The drawer doesn't rattle even at maximum extension. —The finish is consistent (I have found no blemished on my unit) and the semi-gloss black with orange-peel is quite sensible. Criticisms: — The handle and closing mechanisms are badly designed. It latches closed even when not locked which is great (even better if you're using this in a rack that gets moved around). To open this latch one must push down with their finger inside the little fingerhole to open the latch; this is fine. But the sliding rails that have been used have a little rubber piece at the back which works with a narrowed bump in the sliding part of the rail to hold the drawer closed too. This on its own would be fine and potentially a good (albeit maybe slightly less reliable) way of stopping the drawer sliding open and by reaching up under the lip in the top of the fingerhole one could open the drawer. But we know that we need to push down to disengage the latch so we can't reach up (partly because anyone older than five couldn't fit more than one digit in that hole and partly because when the latch button is depressed the lip at the top of the hole is blocked by the latch mechanism and so the lip ceases to be). So either one must use their thumb to depress the latch and reach under the drawer with one's finger to get enough grip to overcome the rubber stoppers or to push so hard down on the finger operating the latch that the sharp plastic edge digs into that finger and gives enough grip to open the drawer. The former means leaving 1 or 1/2U empty beneath the drawer and the latter hurts. Either the latch needs to go in favour of a proper handle or the rubber stoppers do. — Also pertaining to the double-latching arrangement, the amount of force required to push the drawer closed is significant. Smaller/lighter racks on non-carpeted floors might slide and racks without locking wheels probably will. Needing to use a second hand to hold the rack is annoying. Things to know before buying: — The drawer is not lined. If you want to put a shaped insert in to hold things that's fine, but if you are using it as a drawer for loose items, they will slide around. I have put a piece of felt into the bottom to resolve this. — The bottom of the inside of the drawer is not completely flat; there is a small (maybe 10mm deep 1mm tall) lip at the back where two pieces are welded together. — The key barrel is slightly loose and the lock is very basic. Given the price point and the fact that it's not marketed as a 'secure' drawer, I didn't expect better. — The back of the drawer is not sealed. There is a ~10mm gap along the top at the back of the drawer; if the rack is being moved (think tilted or shaken in a roadcase) small items could fall out or in. Packaging: I hate single-use plastic. VFM honoured my request and sent mine in all cardboard or reused packaging except for one little zip-lock bag and cable tie for the keys (which I imagine came from the factory). Thank you to VFM for that. Conclusion: Generally, the drawer is very good, but the latching arrangement seriously compromises its function and living with it has become tiresome. I would advise looking at alternatives with proper handles.

We purchased 2 of these and the rack mounts cracked after less than 2 months of life inside a suspension rack. When we asked for a credit we were refused and told the following:-"Those drawers aren't really designed for tour life. They do alright in road cases in local transport and handled a bit more gently but I wouldn't say they are tour ready drawers. " Nowhere on the product description could I find any mention of this but did find the following:- "Titan AV drawers are made strong, heavy duty smooth sliding rails makes for easy operation with little to no noise. Drawer rails are fitted with rubber pinches to hold the drawers in place when closed or likewise the drawers can be locked. This drawer is compatible with our complete range of 19" road cases."
