“As tippet is really the last bit between you and the fish, then you need to feel comfortable that it will do what it says it can.
I've long been a fan of SA fly lines and own quite a few different ones to cover my fresh and saltwater needs and the various styles of fishing I tend to do so their tippet material is also my go to for my rigs.
This particular tippet is used for very specific waters where I know big fish live so I need the extra strength but also the suppleness to be able to present smaller fly's when targetting midge or emerger feeders. The SA tippets have proven to deliver both of these needs for me for quite a few years now so it's 5 stars from me on this product purchase (and also 5 stars to the lovely people from Tom's who consistently deliver great service and great products at competitive prices)”
“I predominantly fish for trout in NSW and fish a variety of waters that vary from rarely fished rivers to heavily public access dams.
Each requires varying degrees of finesse and "tweaking" of the lines, length and strength of leaders and tippets and patterns and size of flies used.
I bought this tippet for a specific water for a specific fish I'd been targetting for quite a while that I'd hooked but lost a couple of times over recent trips.
I wanted a strong yet supple tippet that would give me confidence that if I hooked it again it wouldn't be the line that would lose me the fish.
In short, I caught the fish, a rainbow that was over 50cm long and touch over 8llb in the old scale (and yes, I have the pics to prove it :) )so I guess that should suffice as a testament to this purchase (by the way, I have a range of spools for my reels to allow me to change tactics quickly when on the water (floating, sink tip, intermediate, sinking etc) and SA lines are now pretty much the only fly lines I use as I've found them to be excellent and always fit for purpose - I particulary find the fact that they print the line details on the line very useful)”
“All the products were supplied in a very swift manner and the phone conversation seeking dry fly advice was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and easy to deal with. Now looking forward to hooking into those Alpine streams!”
“On the first day I used this tippet I hooked a 50cm brown trout on the Thredbo River. The fish jumped three times and went into rocks. The tippet was definitely put through its paces and showed it was up to the task. I landed and released the fish.”
