“This compression bag works well. Was after a sideways compression sack for a sleeping bag to lash on the outside of my hiking pack. Being waterproof is a bonus. Keen to test it next trip.

“I'm unsure about the smaller compression straps and buckles on this newer model, but calculate your volume carefully!. I calculated my sleeping bag was 20L uncompressed. The Medium bag is "19L" capacity...so I thought, "Surely I can compress the sleeping bag 1L to get it to fit. Yeah, umm, NO! Not if you don't try and CLOSE the bag!
I was sweating in 10DegC trying to get my 20L sleeping bag into the Medium (Blue) "19L" size bag. It took 3 goes and I learnt I have to start compressing by hand and body weight from the very first bit of sleeping bag, to even get just 2x turns of the closing loop, to make it waterproof. The bag is stuffed so full at that point, the compression straps can't compress anything anymore, it's already "compressed" to the max.
I would consider this bag to have a CLOSED (but uncompressed) capacity of about 17L, maybe less.
I also find the air vent very hard to close as the sleeping bag just "gives way" when you try to push on the vent to close it. It takes some force.”
