“This sheath is the third needed for my Gransfors Axe that I purchased directly from Gransfors booth at Jagd und Hund hunting exhibition in Dortmund in 2004 where I was exhibiting for our Buffalo Safaris in the NT. I have carried that axe for 20 years of hunts and it has helped dress trophies, and countless other tasks whilst our clients have taken around 400 Trophy Buffalo Bulls and numerous other game such as Boar and Scrub Bulls. The steel in the axe is superb and it retains its edge exceptionally well. Cannot recommend the axes too highly. The sheath is not so robust. The axe has been carried in my back pack for many hundreds of kilometres and bouncing around in the back of a 4wd for a few thousand more. Given this treatment, and the quality steel's sharp edge, the axe eventually wears through the sheath. Retired now so this sheath should see me out undamaged.”
