“Therm-a-Rest Z Lite Sol .. I used this mat for hiking in the Himalaya and it became a significant disappointment.
My first impression .. ‘what a wonderful design’.
On the first night the dimples seemed a bit firm and after three or four sleeps the comfort was perfect.
However by the second and third week the mat was flabby and flatting.
By the fourth week this mat offered no more comfort than a standard roll mat.
And worse than a standard roll mat, because the insulation is very poor.
Fortunately I had a good sleeping bag and survived the cold.
The Z Lite Sol is hopeless on cold ground and the foam quickly flattens .. ONE STAR.”
