“The MSR lightning ascents were purchased after a recommendation from a bushwalk.com forum member, advice from another outdoor retailer staff member and trawling through online reviews. First use and my first time on snow shoes was an eye opener. As a bushwalker that seeks out off route walks, these shoes allow me to do so in winter! After a few beginner mistakes ie standing on you own shoe, rocks covered with thin snow and trying to take backward steps, they showed no sign of damage. Fragile. they are not. I dont deliberately trash my gear, but do expect durability, longevity and reliability from my my purchases. I dont wish to be unsustainably buying again and again. Although early days still, MSR has so far met all three criteria. Toms Outdoors delivered on time, within budget and my second purchase through this store, but not my last.”
