Tech Note 1: When Installing Make sure the ring is fully seated in the mainshaft groove.
Tech Note 2: Ford Super Duty and ExcursionThis Synchro Hub Retaining Ring is used on Ford Excursions and 1999-2004 Ford Super Duty 4x4s with New Venture NV271F and NV273F Transfer Cases. A mainshaft (rear output shaft) design change on 2005-2010 Super Duty trucks Effective July 17, 2004, requires the use of QU10975 Snap Ring which has a smaller diameter. The Ford parts books for final production 2005 Excursion Transfer Cases do specify which Snap Ring is used, so it is possible a late Excursion could also require QU10975.
