QU10918 Flanged Pinion Lock Nut for Dodge Model 70 Rear Axles is a genuine original equipment part that supersedes the separate QU40022 Pinion Nut and the now discontinued extra thick flat washer on 1989 to 2002 Dodge 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks equipped with a Dana-Spicer Model 70 Rear Axle. This Combination Pinion Nut/Washer is an updated original equipment replacement part for Dana Model 60 and Model 70 rear axles. The original setup on your 1994-2002 Dodge Ram rear axle used the QU40022 Pinion Nut and a separate, now discontinued extra-thick Pinion Washer. This new design flange nut replaces both the original nut and washer.

Tech Note 1: Tech HelpTorque this nut to the same specification listed in your Dodge Factory Service Manual or my TM4400 Pinion and Differential Bearing Service on Dana-Spicer Monobeam Axles Technical Manual.
Tech Note 2: ThreadlockerEven though QU10918 is a lock nut, I always use S9978 or S24200 Medium Strength Blue Threadlocker for the extra resistance against loosening.
