Tech Note 5: Before Removing Before removing your old ball joints, you MUST clean out dirt and crud from the area between the ball joint and edge of the steering knuckle counterbore before placing the Ball Joint Receiver in position. The Receiver must be able to seat against the steering knuckle. Failure to remove any packed in material will result in major tool damage!
