Tech Note 1: Damaged Pitch Threads Idler Gear Shafts typically do not often need to be replaced. However, if the extra fine pitch threads get mashed, replacement is usually the only cost effective option.
Tech Note 2: Available Must-Have ToolQT2013 Idler Gear Dummy Shaft is the one must-have tool you will need to rebuild your NP205 transfer case. The idler shaft with the bearings, spacer, and shims, must be rolled into the case during reassembly. Keeping all those parts lined up without this tool is difficult to say the least.
