Use these kits if the driveshaft splines are still serviceable. Fits front, center, or rear driveshafts on all 1961-1986.5 Dodge trucks with original equipment 1¼"-16 full spline slip stubs and original slip yokes that measure 2.125" between yoke ears and use an internal c-clip type joint. Specs 1986 Change Applications
Tech Note 1: MeasureBy now, many of the original slip joints have been replaced with aftermarket 1-3/8"-16 spline parts. MAKE sure your slip stub has 16 full length splines with an outside diameter of 1-1/4"!
Tech Note 2: Specs7260 Series u-joints are retained by internal c-clips that fit against the inside of the yoke ears. Width between the yoke ears is 2-1/8". U-Joint cup diameter is 1.078". Standard Duty U-Joint is QU40751. Heavy Duty U-Joint part number is QU40794.
Tech Note 3: 1986 ChangeDodge used this type of vented slip yoke with a spline seal on trucks built up to January 2, 1986 for both front and rear driveshafts. Starting with production date January 3, 1986, an unvented slip yoke with a boot was used for both front and rear driveshafts.
