Tech Note 1: U-Joint Specs The CV Joint is the same for all 1994-2001 Ram 1500 and 1994-2002 Ram 2500/3500, however the front u-joint (and our Kit number) will vary by year. Always verify your front u-joint type before ordering, especially on 1998-2000 model year vehicles as the front u-joint may vary between early and late production trucks in each year for certain engine/transmission/transfer case combinations!The 3 Front U-Joint Types:
1994-1998: Detroit 7290 U-Joint with four 1-1/8" diameter cups. All four Cups are retained by C-Clips that seat against inside of yoke ears. Inside span between yoke ears is 2-5/8". Slip Stub has 30 splines. Use TK3030 Kit.1999: Conversion U-Joint with two 1-1/8" diameter cups and two 1-1/16" Cups. 1-1/8" Cups are retained by C-Clips that seat against inside of yoke ears. 1-1/16" cups will have external snap ring if in slip yokes, or if attaching to pinion yoke, ends of cups are retained by lugs cast in pinion yoke. Slip Stub has 15 or 16 splines. Some early production shafts have 30 spline slip stubs, for these order QU40085 and QU50138 Slip Yoke Boot Clamps separately). Use TK3035 Kit.2000-2002: Spicer 1330 U-Joint with four 1-1/16" diameter cups. Two cups in driveshaft slip yoke will have external snap rings. No snap rings are used on pinion yoke as ends of cups are retained by lugs cast in pinion yoke. Width of u-joint measured across installed width of cups is 3-5/8". Slip Stub has 15 or 16 splines.
