QU40032 External Lug Outer Axle Shaft Snap Ring for Dana 19+ Spine Axle Shafts is a genuine original equipment Dana part for 1950's to early 1990's Chevy, Dodge, Ford, GMC, International, and Jeep 4x4s with 1-1/4' x 19 Spline Outer Axle Shafts. One of these snap rings is used on each outer axle shaft. QU40032 snap rings were used on most Dana 44, GM 10 Bolt, Ford Dana 60 closed Knuckle, and Ford Dana 30 Front axles. QU40032 External Lug Axle Shaft Snap Ring is interchangeable with QU40614 Inverted Lug Snap Rings for most applications (See Tech Note 2).

Dan the Gear Man® Tech Notes: Purposes Interchangeable with QU40614 Matching Parts Applications
Tech Note 1: Purpose This Snap Ring keeps the outer axle shaft engaged with the seal(s) or bushing face in the back of of your spindle. In full time and Central Axle Disconnect (CAD) applications, it keeps the splined hub drive gear from blowing out of the wheel hub. This little guy has a big job, so always replace any bent or twisted Snap Ring.
Tech Note 2: Interchangeable with QU40614 QU40032 and QU40614 Axle Shaft Snap Rings are functionally interchangeable for most applications. QU40032 External Lug Snap Ring has higher profile lugs (the "ears" with the holes in them) compared to QU40614 which has inverted lugs. Some lockout hub designs such as QU56018 Warn plastic dial units have minimal clearance around the snap ring groove and require QU40614 Snap Ring.
