QU40035 Hub Spring Plate or Spring Cup for Splined 4x4 Wheel Hubs fits between the QU40050 hub spring and the outer wheel bearing cup on SUV's, and pickups with Dana Spicer Model 30, Model 44 or GM 10 Bolt front drive axles equipped with internal mount, Spicer factory lock out hubs or full time drive gears. These Spring Plates were used on most of the late 1960's to mid 1980's Chevy, Dodge, Ford, GMC, IHC, and Jeep 4x4s with internal splined front wheel hubs. USA Made.

Dan the Gear Man® Tech Notes: Installation Factory Hub Parts Spicer ONLY Spring Plate Matching Parts Applications
Tech Note 1: InstallationThese 2.89" diameter, cup-shaped plates are often installed backwards which will ruin the plate and outer wheel bearing. Install the plate so the FLAT side is towards the spring! Properly installed, the large diameter end of QU40035 Spring Plate will fit against the outer bearing cup on the inboard side. The function of this part is to protect the outer wheel bearing from the spring.
Tech Note 2: Factory Hub PartsSpicer factory hubs have been out of production for decades. They were probably the strongest internal mount lockout hub ever made, but unfortunately most parts for them are long gone. As of December 2011, we still have these parts in stock: QU40154 Hub Cam, QU40558R, QU40559R, QU40560R, QU40561R (Hub Gears), QU40374U Hub Dial, QU40032 Axle Shaft Snap Ring, QU40050 Spring, and QU40035 Spring Plate.
Tech Note 3: Spicer ONLY Spring PlateQU40035 Spring Plate is NOT used with Warn or any other aftermarket hub-lock. QU40035 is only used with Spicer factory plastic dial hubs or with full time splined hub drive gears that are held under tension by QU40050 spring.
