Tech Note 1: UseUsing a Clamp Tool specifically made to tighten eared clamps around the driveshaft boot is the best way to tension a stainless steel Boot Clamp to provide an air and watertight seal. QU40085 is used to seal the small end of popular driveshaft and axle shaft slip yoke boots. Special crimping pliers like our QT4018i is the preferred method of closing the clamp, but hoof nippers or some types of wire cutters can be used in an emergency.
