QU50271 Rear Wheel Seal for Standard Dodge 9-1/4" Rear Axles is an original equipment type, premium quality, USA made rear axle shaft/rear wheel seal for standard 9.25" Rear Axles in 1974 to 2006 Dodge and Plymouth SUV's, pickups, and vans up to light duty 3/4 ton models. Outer shell has a ring of factory applied sealant to prevent oil leaks between the axle housing and seal, plus the lip is prelubed at the factory to provide initial lubrication. Sold individually.

Axle Shaft Removal Before Installation Matching Parts Applications
Tech Note 1: Verify Wheel SealFor some years and models, there may be two sizes of wheel seals available for the same axle family depending upon the axle rating. QU50271 is made to fit axles with 1.622" diameter axle shafts (about 1-5/8").
Tech Note 2: Axle Shaft RemovalTo remove the axle shafts on semi-float rear axles, you need to remove the differential cover, unscrew the Cross Shaft Lock Bolt, and pull out the diff cross shaft from the differential. Next, push the axle shafts in far enough to completely expose the axle c-clips, remove the c-clips, and then pull the axle shafts out of the housing.
Tech Note 3: Before InstallationBoth the Seal Lip and Bearing Rollers must be greased to provide initial lubrication.
