Tech Note 1: FitsQK1025 can be used for both conversion and original equipment replacement applications. For early model New Venture NV4500 transmission shift covers with integral towers, QK1025 fits QK1123 Shift Stub Kit which is specific to 1992-1993 Dodge NV4500s, but will also fit 1994-1997 Dodge and 1992-1994 GM Shift Covers. New Venture redesigned the NV4500 shift cover to use a bolt-on shift tower (late 1994 -2000 GM and 1997-2005 Dodge). QK1025 fits all 1998-2005 Dodge NV4500 Shift Towers.
Tech Note 2:
Shift Stub and Press-On Lever 1994-1997 Dodge NV4500 transmissions used a square shank shift stub and a press-on shift lever. Both the 1994-1997 stub and lever are out of production and no longer available, however, you can change to the threaded style shifter using QK1027 Shift Stub and Lever Kit which includes QK1025 Shift Lever Kit and QK1123 Shift Stub Kit. There will be a gap between your outer shift boot and the new shift lever. This gap can be easily filled with a short piece of black or grey, split, closed-cell pipe insulation that is readily available from most plumbing supply and hardware stores.

Tech Note 6: Lubricants, Sealants, ThreadlockersEarly production NV4500 Transmissions used an anaerobic sealant (QU90003) to seal between the main case and input bearing retainer, top cover, and rear housing. Mid-production units used anaerobic sealant just on the input retainer and RTV for everything else. Later production transmissions used black RTV Sealant (QU90006 or QU90005) for everything. Either type of sealant works fine (except the PTO covers ALWAYS should be sealed with RTV), but I prefer RTV for all components. Regardless of which sealant you use, make sure excess sealant does not block the lube access hole at the top of input retainer pilot that fits into the transmission case. Also, the threaded holes in the main case for the four retainer bolts and 12 PTO bolts are open ended, so you must use new bolts with factory applied threadlocker or apply Threadlocker (S24200) to your existing bolts to prevent oil seepage past the bolt threads.
