Always Replace Matching Bearing Cup 4x4 Tech Publication Matching Parts Applications
Tech Note 1: Shims/SpacerUntil the later 1980's, almost all Dana-Spicer axles used reusable shims to set the pinion preload. Most, but not all Model 30, 44, and 50 axles built since that time use QU40208 non-reusable collapsible spacer (crush sleeve) for preload.
Tech Note 2: Always ReplaceAlways replace the cup and cone at the same time.
