“After much deliberation we decided to purchase the summertime log cabin. We also decided to construct the cabin on a timber base supported by adjustable base plates. I am 64 years of age and constructed the entire cabin (base, cabin logs, roof shingles and insulated timber floor.) It took me around two weeks elapsed time, but 7.5 full days. IT CAN BE DONE!! The biggest tasks were moving the vast amount of timber from the kerbside around 35 metres to the garden at the back of our home, covering it all with the damp proof membrane which I had bought for the base, then doing the inventory to ensure I had all the required components. The construction of the cabin to roof height was a doddle and took around 2 1/2 hours. Project was broken down as follows; 1. Move timber from kerbside to garden and do the inventory. 1/2 day. 2. Excavate area where the base was to be placed, lay down weed membrane and construct the timber base including the joists. 2 days. 3. Erect the cabin to roof height including first coat of sealant. 1/2 day 4. Lay down roof timbers. 1 day. 5. Lay down roof shingles. 1 day. 6. Door frame and double door, including facials. 1/2 day. 7. Lay damp proof membrane over joists, lay insulation over the membrane, lay timber floors, including skirting. 2 days. Of course there are a lot of cosmetic things still to be done, but we are using it. One of the key factors in my being able to do this project on my own was the incredibly quick turnaround for answers when I requested help from Tuin. Not everything went smoothly, but it was a great comfort to know that Tuin were always available to help me through the process. A real joy!!”
“We had no trouble erecting this summerhouse. I constructed a timber frame base to sit it on. This was made using 6x2 timbers bolted together making 6x4. This frame was the sat on concrete paving flags. I used the Tuin levellers to get the frame level.My wife helped to put the first 6 layers of logs and my neighbour helped with the remainder and the root trusses. I completed the the rest, the roof timbers, the shingles and the floor. The floor by the way was supported by 6x2 timbers hung on joist hangers that I purchased from screwfix. If you look at the videos on the web site and study the plans before you start these summerhouses are very easy to put together. The shingles are a must they make the summerhouse look really good. Again look at the video and read the information on the website and you cannot go wrong”

“After much deliberation and searching the internet I chose a Tuin summerhouse cabin, The information on the website is very comprehensive covering absolutely everything you might need to know. The video on installation was enough to convince me I wasn't up to the job and the guys at Tuin (after having the patience to listen to and answer all of my queries) even recommended me someone to erect it all for me. I cannot really do full justice in praising the assistance and service provided by all of the team. On delivery day unfortunately there were some items missing which was dispatched ASAP and with me in the next couple of days causing no delay to the build. Could not recommend highly enough the quality of the product or the service which is 1st class.......just waiting for the rain to stop now so I can get the treatment done!!”
