“Really nice mattress. I found this looking for a non-toxic alternative to foam, having sent back a brand new foam mattress which I couldn't stand to be in the same room as, the fumes coming off it were that bad. This is not a cheap mattress but well worth the investment if you can afford it. The upgrade to softer or firmer layers is a nice selling point though I haven't needed it. A couple of things to be aware of - these mattresses are heavy! But they arrive rolled up and are in layers, so could easily be got up narrow stairs, which you cannot with a conventional mattress. With a bit of imagination it's also possible to fit one of these on a flip-up wall-mounted bed too, but it does need to be strapped on with about 5 ratchet-straps, and then topped with a mattress topper so you aren't sleeping straight on top of the straps. It's not the ideal mattress for the bed that I have it on because of this weight, but I have made it work and it is definitely worth the effort. On a conventional bed, the weight would be no problem at all. Really happy with it.”

“I like a firm mattress, and I bought the two-mattress option for a single bed. When I was given the opportunity to upgrade & swap the soft mattress for a firm, I took it. So I use the 'medium' mattress below and sleep directly on the 'firm' mattress atop. Because I feel the cold & live in a cold flat, I do also use a beautiful quality wool topper bought from a company in Devon. I sleep on my side and front. The level of firmness is perfect for me, and I smile in self-congratulatory pleasure each night before I fall asleep. I sleep more deeply now, and the back pain I had been suffering from for the past few years has disappeared. Although I had my suspicions that some of the pain might have been due to sleeping on a hard day-bed mattress instead of a proper mattress, I am still surprised that almost all the pain was due to that. I am also happy that the Una mattress is at least half the price of other natural mattresses that I was considering buying. One other bonus is that the Una mattresses might be easier and less bulky to transport when I come to move home.”
