“This is the 3rd Cobalt I've purchased over time - I've also purchased the Hidizs, the one that goes for just over 100 bucks and was raved about by a certain reviewer who I certainly respect - I gave the Hidizs away which speaks for itself - - In it's thumb drive, low cost configuration, imho, it's pretty tough to beat the Cobalt in all of the usual sonic audiophile areas - is it my reference? No - do I long for my reference when I'm using it? Absolutely not - my system is reference throughout so the Cobalt isn't in constant use - but to shead some light on how highly I think of it when it is in my system: completely satisfying in its single-ended configuration driving a reference preamp utilizing a descent but certainly not reference level interconnect cable from a laptop library of lossless PCM CD files - wonderful sounding - and yes, I've run it with and without the JitterBug (which, imo, you won't miss if you don't have it or care to buy it) - - I've never used the Cobalt to drive headphones so I can't offer any personal insight in that realm. In my opinion, the Cobalt is a gem.”

“Each of the AudioQuest Dragonflies has been worth the upgrade -- Black to Red, to Cobalt. Each time I ordered, I excepted to return as not worth the extra $100. Each time I was wrong. The Cobalt is just freakin amazing the sound they produce out of such a tiny device. I use the Cobalt with PC laptop and my trusty$100 VModa earbuds streaming Tidal Premium -- and MQfreakinA. Just astonishing. This is the ultimate at-work sound system. Very close to my at-home system -- Sennheiser HD600 via PSAudio Stellar Gain Cell DAC. Are you listening, PSAudio? Sennheiser?”
